The Rapture of the true Church - "Bride of Christ" will be the most glorious event that will ever take place in the history of the human race… but at the same time, it will be the most horrifying occurrence for those who have wilfully chosen to refuse God! The most important truth to hold on to is to be prepared for Yeshua – Jesus Christ when He comes first for His Church and then the second most important truth is that when our Lord comes for His Bride the door will be shut as offer of a free pardon. The Antichrist will reign for 7-Years during the Tribulation until Christ’s Second Coming!

During the Tribulation - God’s ‘Two Witnesses’ are going to be given POWER by God for 1,260 days (42 months or 3 ½ Years) …and when this happens it’s going to SHAKE the world!

No one knows exactly who the "Two Witnesses" are? But what will be known is that when they do appear, the RETURN of Christ is not far away! We all know about Noah’s Ark and Moses parting the Red Sea and most Biblical accounts of Samson, David, and Goliath, and so on, but we have NOT heard much about God’s ‘Two Witnesses’ …as not much is said about this! Why is that?

You see in the Book of Revelation right before the RETURN of Yeshua, Jesus Christ …our Lord and Saviour, God will give POWER to His "Two Witnesses" and is described in the "vision" that God gave the Apostle John - 2,000 years ago about them; "Then I (John) was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, "Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there." – Revelation 11:1. This is one of the clearest indications that Revelation could NOT have been written in the 90AD’s of the 1^st-Century …since the Second TEMPLE and its furnishings were destroyed in 70AD and would have been impossible for John to have measured it in 95AD! "But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months." – Revelation 11:2. John writes to warn our generation – the Last Days generation, that one day (soon) these powerful "witnesses" WILL come, not only to preach the Gospel …BUT will be given POWER that will give evidence to the world that Yeshua (Jesus) is KING and that He is coming back. The Book of Revelation says that these TWO great "Prophets" or "Witnesses" will have "FIRE" …that comes from their mouths and they will have power to stop the rain and even cause plagues to fall.

What the Bible says about  the "Two Witnesses" is extremely powerful… They WILL be given extraordinary powers to do miracles for 3 1/2-years (first half of the Tribulation) before Christ's Return (Revelation 11:3-5). If anyone attempts to harm them before they complete their ministry; "…fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies" Note the similarity between this and the power given to Elijah (1 Kings 1:9-15). They will also have power to produce "drought and famine" just as Elijah (Luke 4:25; 1 Kings 17:1-7). And, to smite the earth with "plagues," as Moses did in Egypt (Revelation 11:6). However, there is no Biblical justification to believe that the "Two Witnesses" are indeed Moses and Elijah. God has never resurrected a Prophet or Apostle for work Centuries or Millennia later. God always uses people of the time to carry out His work.

The most notable work of these "Two Witnesses" will be to give one FINAL warning to a wicked world… with a message of "rebuke and repentance" and this will bring them into great conflict with the people and the Governments in power …and so they will be martyred! The whole world WILL then rejoice and give each other gifts as they view the ‘Two Witnesses’ dead bodies, lying unburied in the streets of Jerusalem). However, those same people will be struck with great FEAR when they see the "Two Witnesses" come to life again and ascend into the sky in a cloud (Revelation 11: 9-12).

Who are these Two Witnesses? Let’s go on a journey of discovery together and see if we can discover from God’s Word a clue… The Bible NEVER gives the names of who the “Two Witnesses” will be … and so many Bible scholars also believe that the ‘Two Witnesses’ could be Enoch and Elijah …and the reason for this is because in Hebrew 9:27 …it says that “at an appointed time” everyone is going to die! BUT, you see, Enoch and Elijah (2 Kings 2:1-18; Genesis 5:21-24) are the two individuals who NEVER died …and were “taken” from the earth by God! So, if we ALL have to die …and they didn’t  …then maybe they will be the ones who will have to return at some point? It does make sense if we think about it! However, does the Bible teach that everyone has to die literally? No! When our Lord Yeshua (Jesus) returns for His Bride at the Harpazo (Rapture) there WILL be people (believers) who will be alive and caught up in the air to meet Him and so they will not ALL have died.

So, then the other suggestion is that if there is NO argument for people having to ALL first die (like Enoch and Elijah)… then maybe it must be Moses and Elijah …since we believers have all died with Christ when we became “born again!” And, certainly Moses and Elijah have also been saved in the same way. Another reason for this is that they were both present at the Transfiguration of Christ (Mark 9:1). When our Lord Yeshua (Jesus) was alive 2,000 years ago He ran into Moses and Elijah (Matthew 17:1-8) standing together while walking with Peter, James, and John.

Why did Moses and Elijah appear at the Transfiguration and stand beside the Lord? This symbolises that Yeshua (Jesus Christ) is their successor - now bringing a NEW Covenant from God for ALL people. When God's voice is heard, He reassured the Disciples that even though the Lord MUST suffer  …they must listen to Him and obey Him. So, this was seen as a preview to some Bible Scholars studying Prophecy …that Moses and Elijah MUST return someday before the Lord’s Second Coming!

Both Moses and Elijah performed the MIRACLES ascribed to the “Two Witnesses” just as the Prophet Elijah did when he made “FIRE fall from the sky” (2 Kings 1:10). Moses died (Deuteronomy 34:5-7) and God buried him …and since he was NOT meant to stay dead, he was resurrected from the dead and has been living in Heaven ever since that time. Elijah was taken up to Heaven without dying in a “Chariot of Fire” (2 Kings 2:11). Now here are very interesting Scriptures for the argument of “Elijah and Moses” as being the “Two Witnesses” in; Malachi 4:5; “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.”  Here we see God saying that before the world ends Elijah will come to the earth again. Isn’t that convincing? Now remember if there is one person in the Bible that sent “plaques” into the world - it was Moses who also did “miracles” when he was trying to tell Pharaoh to let God’s people go! BUT after Pharaoh refused to obey then God sent plaques into Egypt to punish them (Exodus 7:14 – 11:10). And, something very similar is going to happen again when the “Two Witnesses” of Revelation comes on the scene! Our God is a consuming fire…“He makes the clouds his chariot; he rides on the wings of the wind; he makes his messengers winds, his ministers a flaming fire” (Psalm 104:3-4).

Some even say that it is only symbolic for the Old and New Testament. So, the issue here is that we now see all have opinions on who they might be? And, because we can’t “pin-point” exactly who they are …that is why we don’t hear many sermons or teachings on them! Revelation 11:4 -  calls them; "the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth," an obvious reference to;  Zechariah 4:14. When we combine this Old Testament Prophecy with the New Testament interpretation of the “lampstands” in Revelation 1:20 …it appears that the “Two Witnesses” WILL also have a profound ministry to those “left behind” and will supply them with "OIL," that is, they will spiritually feed them during the "famine of God’s Word" (Amos 8:11).

By now you like us too, must be convinced that the “Two Witnesses” …are either Enoch and Elijah or Moses and Elijah? For many years we too though about who they might be …and so we were leaning more towards Moses and Elijah BUT somehow, we were not fully convinced and so we prayed about this and studied more about this topic! You see every question has a concrete answer in the Bible and we just have to discover it! Having searched who, they “might be” …rather than who they really are? So, let us go back to Matthew 17:1-8 where it talks about it After the meeting on the Mount of Transfiguration the Disciples asked the Lord; “Why do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first? This question that the Disciples were asking is referring to the Prophet Malachi saying that Elijah WILL come before the return of Christ the Messiah as the Disciples knew about this.

Now look carefully at how Yeshua (Jesus) responded to the question; “And as they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Tell no one the vision, until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.”  And the disciples asked him, “Then why do the scribes say that first Elijah must come?”  He answered, “Elijah does come, and he will restore all things. But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they pleased. So, also the Son of Man will certainly suffer at their hands.”  Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist.” – Matthew 17;9-13. Did you get that? Then the Disciples understood that He was talking to them about John the Baptist! Yeshua let them know that Elijah did come …but in the form of John the Baptist!

You see, before the Lord Yeshua began His Ministry John the Baptist was on the scene preaching about “the Kingdom of God” …and preached with such “FIRE and intensity” that he was killed for his faith! Here the Lord was informing his Disciples that Elijah was going to come in the spirit of John the Baptist!  That is why John the Baptist was born (Luke 1:13) to come first to prepare people for the Ministry of Yeshua (Jesus): “And he (John the Baptist) will go before Him (Yeshua) in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.” – Luke 1: 17. Now look at this verse and compare it to Malachi 4:5. It’s referring to the same thing! And we can see more clearly why Yeshua said that John the Baptist was the fulfilment of the Prophecy of Elijah’s coming back into the world! This discovery leads us to more questions? Now what do we do about the fact that Elijah could be one of the “Two Witnesses?” Do we start all over because we just learnt that John the Baptist was the fulfilment of Elijah coming? HOW do we get to the bottom of WHO the “Two Witnesses” are?

This is where our journey NOW begins! Because with all that we have looked over we are now ready to look at the Book of Revelation …and see what it says about the; “Two Witnesses” with an open mind! We know that in Revelation the Apostle John (the beloved) is speaking with an “Angelic being” receiving a “vision” for the End-times. You see, the Book of Revelation  is actually “the Revelation of Yeshua – Jesus Christ!” Revelation is full of “visions” and in it, John is shown “the Beast” as representing a wicked king that would arise …and a “vision” of “a woman clothed in the sky giving birth to a son.” John saw many “visions” - he saw the “vision” of Babylon etc. and then the Angel would follow up what these SYMBOLIC figures would mean!

Now the only thing that we find very interesting about these “Two Witnesses” was that the Angel does NOT go into detail to let John know exactly who they are? In Revelation 11:1-5 God gives John instructions; “ I (John) was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers. But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”  They are “the two olive trees” and the “two lampstands and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.” If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die.”  So here we have a few key words to help us detect who the “Two Witnesses” are; (1) Here the Angel is speaking with the voice of God (2) who will appoint His “Two Witnesses” (3) the 1,260 days refers to the 3 1/2-year point (beginning) of the Tribulation BEFORE the Antichrist forces his evil hand in Jerusalem (4) THEY are the “two Olive Trees and the two Lampstands” and they stand before the Lord of the earth (5) If anyone tries to harm them, they WILL die!

Now look again as we examine further… God said that He will appoint His “Two Witnesses” and then the Angel gives us a clue of the identity of the “Two Witnesses” …THEY are the “two Olive Trees and the two Lampstands” and they stand before the Lord of the earth! When we imagine in our minds WHO can these two individuals be – we ask again - are they Prophets – are they people? And, since John saw this vison 2,000 years ago it is hard for us to imagine who these two individuals are!

And so, we must read further;  “Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them.  Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city - which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt - where also their Lord was crucified.  For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language, and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial.  The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth. But after the three and a half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on.” - Revelation 11:7-11. So, here we see that once the ‘Two Witnesses” - have done their testimony the BEAST that comes out of the Abyss WILL attack them, overpower them, and kill them and their bodies will lay in the ‘great city’ – which is figuratively called ‘Sodom and Egypt’ …where also the Lord was Crucified and for 3 ½-days some from EVERY; people, tribe, language, and Nation …will see their bodies and refuse burial - gloat over them - and send each other gifts! So, after the 3 ½-days we read that the “BREATH of God” entered them and they stood on their feet …and went up to HEAVEN! That’s all we read about the “Two Witnesses.”

Some say that the reference to; “their bodies” could mean two bodies or multiple bodies. So how are we going to find out who they are or what they are? If the Angel did NOT explain what the Beast or Dragon represented …then we would still be wondering even more …and may even be thinking that could be a “giant dragon or beast” coming out of the sea? It was CLEARLY shown that this “Beast or Dragon” represented a KINGDOM!

So, let’s do some detective work if we really want to know who the “Two Witnesses” are and now look at the KEY words of the Angel! If the Angel was speaking to John about the COMING future, Last Day - “Beast” – “Antichrist” and NOT give him the interpretation …then how would we be able to find if “the beast” representing “a king or kingdom?” Let’s look at; Daniel 7:7: “After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth BEAST, terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns. (Also; Daniel 7:23) When a Prophet was referring to a “beast” it always refers to KINGDOM or KINGS.

Was a major KEY given by the Angel who the “Two Witnesses” are in? Revelation 7:4; “They are “the two olive trees” and the “two lampstands and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.” So, who are the TWO OLIVE TREES and the TWO LAMPSTANDS? If we can understand this …then we can understand who the “Two Witnesses” are! Let’s begin to first look at what the Bible says ALL trees are …and what they will do. Zechariah was given a vision of the End-times as well and guess what he sees? “Then the angel who talked with me returned and woke me up, like someone awakened from sleep. He asked me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a solid gold lampstand with a bowl at the top and seven lamps on it, with seven channels to the lamps. “Also, there are two olive trees by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left.” – Zechariah 4:1-4. Zechariah saw TWO Olive trees and asked what they are? “Then I asked the angel, “What are these two olive trees on the right and the left of the lampstand?” Again, I asked him, “What are these two olive branches beside the two gold pipes that pour out golden oil?” He replied, “Do you not know what these are?” “No, my lord,” I said. So, he said, “These are the two who are anointed to serve the Lord of all the earth.” – Zechariah 4:11-14. The Angel says these are the two anointed to serve the Lord of all the earth! Either two people or two groups of people?

We see Jeremiah speak to the people of Israel who have turned away from God; “The Lord called you (Israel) a thriving olive tree with fruit beautiful in form. But with the roar of a mighty storm, he will set it on fire, and its branches will be broken.” - Jeremiah 11:16-17.  What did God call Israel? A thriving “Olive TREE” and shown to represent a body of people - the Jewish people and Nation of Israel. In Romans 11:24 we see Paul talking to Gentiles (non-Jewish); “After all, if you (Gentiles) were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree (Israel), how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!” God sees Humanity in two groups; (1) Jews and (2) Gentiles because of our faith in Christ we are included in God’s people because of their unbelief. We Gentiles (wild Olive shoot) must NOT become arrogant as we too can be broken off (Romans 11:17-20).

Here Paul connects it to Jeremiah 11:16-17 where he says that “the branches” would be “broken off” the Olive Tree (Israel). God is NOT done with Israel and is able to graft them in back again into their OWN Olive Tree (Romans 11:23-26). When the Jewish people finally come to Christ they are “grafted back” and back into their own Olive Tree. TWO Olive trees; JEW and Gentile; Both separate but serving God and when “the fulness of the Gentiles” happens …ALL Israel will be saved! Something WILL happen that will somehow bring the Jewish people (the Lord’s Brethren) into FAITH in their (and our) Messiah – Yeshua (Jesus Christ).

Now let’s go back to Revelation 11… Who are the “Two Witnesses” that will Prophesy for 3 ½-Years with Hoy Spirit Power? Did it say only two people? NO! It said that they were the TWO Olive Trees! The Holy Spirit is already here BUT when the POWER (Like in Acts 1:8) comes that is going to be unleashed  - when BOTH God’s Olive Trees are ready! You see we are still waiting for the repentance of His people – Israel! When the time is right and the “Two Olive Trees” are READY …then the testimony of the “Two Witnesses”- WILL begin! What will the Witnesses do? We can see clearly as we read in Acts 1:8; Isaiah 43:10, 44:8. The world WILL see that God is God!  The “Two Witnesses” are NOT only the TWO Olive Trees BUT the TWO Lampstands!

Now what about the VISION of John about the - "Two Lampstands?" In beginning (Revelation 1:12) John sees a vision of the "Glorified Christ" and 7 Lampstands … and interpretation of what these 7 Lampstands; "The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches." - Revelation 1:20. Stars in visions are often symbols of Angels and we clearly see that the lampstands are a symbol for Churches. A Church is NOT singular and is a "body of believers" – many people! In Revelation 11:4 when it says the Witnesses are two lampstands  …it is saying they are two churches or two bodies of believers; Jewish and Gentile believers! The "Two Witnesses" are thus the Olive Trees; Jews and Gentile and in the same way they are Christ’s Lampstands - His Church of true believers (Matthew 5:16; Luke 12:35). Yeshua (Jesus) always referred to us - His people as lamps …and also as trees bearing much fruit! We as believers are one of God’s Olive Trees or His Lampstands and are one of His Witnesses!

We can now see that when it says that God’s POWER will fall during the 3 ½-Years Tribulation… not just upon two people BUT perhaps upon ALL people who are alive on earth having accepted Christ. It will fall in a greater way and be present MORE than the world has ever seen! The first believers 2,000 years ago (Acts 2:17-19) were given a taste of the POWER of the Holy Spirit …BUT the Last Days generation of believers WILL see God’s great POWER before the coming of the Great Day of the Lord. You see when we read about "FIRE" it is symbolic of coming out of the mouth means "proclaiming God’s Word" (Jeremiah 5:14) and consumed with God’s TRUTH!

God’s Word is true! He IS watching to see how the nations are treating His people – Israel. God will have mercy on Israel through Gentile believers acting as mediators towards them! This is one of the most amazing revelations ever given to the Church – an opportunity to do something that carries the highest priority in the heart of God. Yet, sadly, so few have seen the potential and the rewards of serving God in this manner - as agents of mercy to Israel and the Jewish people! Israel was and still is despised today and a despised nation continually turning away from God BUT nothing ever altered the purpose of God for that nation. The despised element is always a noticeable element in the purpose of God. When the Saviour of the world came, He came of that despised nation; like Israel… He Himself was; "despised and rejected by men," And there is that despised element; "…things that are despised God has chosen," 1 Corinthians 1:28. Now, more than at any time is the time to support Israel and the Jewish people - the Lord’s Brethren! We are witnessing the nations and people turning their backs on Israel. Thank you for your prayers and generous financial support especially during these very difficult times. With "lockdown" and difficult "recovery" still lying ahead we ARE reminded that the Wuhan Corona Virus has caused many dire needs and continue to increase here in Israel upon the already most vulnerable!
